About Mr. Tariq Rasheed

M.Tariq Rasheed Qamar is student of Law and Politics, and also an active tax payer since early days of his law practice.

Educational Qualification:
He is grateful to his teachers and instructors who were like a touchstone of inspiration and passion which could turn throwaway transient sand particles into timeless gold mine.

He secured his B.A. LL.B (Hon.) Shariah & Law degree from International Islamic University, Islamabad. He was taught Arabic language and literature from  Muhammad Al-Bandari Al-Shamtoot, of Al-Azhar University Egypt and Islamic Culture from renowned African scholar Dr. Taj Abdul Rahman Ahmad Al-Aroosi of 'Muslim World League'. He also attended lecture of Syrian Shafi'i jurist Dr. Professor Sheikh Wahbah Mustafa al-Zuhayli (1932-2015), of Damascus University. He studied International Law from Prof. Dr. Muhammad Munir.

He did his LL.M (Corporate law) from the same institution. He is fortunate having been trained in Research Methodology by a Pakistani legal scholar and author Imran Ahsan Khan Nyazee which he passed with first position. On Islamic Banking, he was taught Islamic Fiqh of banking by the eminent scholar and recipient of the President of Pakistan’s Medal for Pride of Performance Prof. Dr. Tahir Mansuri.

He completed his research thesis work (title: “Hostile Takeovers & Defending the Target Company against Them – A Comparison of US and Pak Company Law”) under supervision of Mr. Rizwan Faiz Muhammad, which was approved by committee in 2010.

He completed a comprehensive training course on WTO Agreements, organized by the International Management Development Centre (IMDC) of IIUI in collaboration with the Trade Initiative from Human Perspective (TIHP), a joint project of the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan during 21.9.06 to 8.3.07. 

In 2015, he qualified in written examination for PhD Law at University of Karachi. But he chose to study M.Phil Political Science at Department of Political Science at Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan. He was trained to develop a scientific approach on Comparative Politics and National Integration & Socialization by renowned Pakistani Political scientist Dr. Fayyaz Ahmad in 2017-2018. He received research training in Social Sciences from Dr. Shahid Hussain Bukhari and Dr. Rana Ayaz.

In 2018 he passed competitive exam for posts of Civil Judges with distinction, being the one among 21 candidates who passed out of 6538 candidates from all over Punjab, and out of them he was the only one practicing in South Punjab.

Teaching:
He taught 'Muslim Family law' and 'Equity' at the Multan Law College in 2011. He became visiting member of faculty of law at Bahauddin Zakariya University and taught 'Mercantile Law' and 'Law of Contract' at its Gillani Law College during year 2012 to 2013 and taught 'Law of tort' at its Department of Distant Education (DDE) in year 2013. He taught ‘International Law’ at evening program of Bahauddin Zakariya University during 2015-2018.

Lawyers’ Election:
He got elected as Executive Member of High Court Bar Association Multan for 2014-2015 after contesting election. 

Law Practice:
He joined the law chamber in 2002 which was established by his father in late 70's and transformed it into modern enterprise with international and corporate law practice.

He also drafted agreements for UK clients for a brief period in 2012. Later on, he negotiated and drafted the agreements between multinational companies. He kept counseling different foreign companies and provided legal opinions regarding International Commercial law in different countries like Nigeria, Oman, Iraq, Afghanistan, India, Malta and Kuwait.

He has also represented the International & local companies, banks, multinational trading units and other private sector bodies in a variety of cases of corporate crimes involving NAB, FIA and commercial law cases.

At tax practice, he represented Government exchequer at Lahore and Sindh High Courts in corporate matters involving huge revenue worth billions of rupees relating to Sugar Mills, Textile Mills, Government bodies, companies of Fertilizers, Cosmetics, Paper Cone Products, Beverages, Paper Products, Banks and other industries.
